today i actual got the screen to work. i had to get around a roadblock by creating a movie clip inside a movie clip created in a movie clip, but hey, whatever works, right? So now the screen flickers then fades in with the buttons.
The other change i made was a very dim white light that passes over the screen at random times. I created a movie clip inside the movie clip inside the movie clip and then created a white bar. then i moved it across the screen. walah!
